Information you provide

• Email addresses submitted to our waitlist or support.
• Menu photos and other images you choose to scan or upload.
• Messages, screenshots, and diagnostic details you send to support.

Information collected when you use Menuscript

• Recognized menu text, translations, and generated menu details needed to provide the service.
• Approximate or precise location only when you grant permission and use a location-based feature.
• Technical data such as device type, app version, IP address, browser type, referring page, and basic request logs.
• Purchase and subscription status supplied by the App Store. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

How we use information

• Process menus, translate text, generate dish information, and create illustrative dish previews.
• Save and display your scans and preferences.
• Operate the waitlist, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
• Measure reliability and improve Menuscript.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

AI processing and service providers

Menu images, recognized text, and related prompts may be sent to third-party AI and infrastructure providers to produce translations, menu details, and illustrative images. We limit what we send to what is needed to provide the requested feature. Those providers process data under their own agreements and privacy practices.

Do not include faces, payment information, or other sensitive personal information in menu photos.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that host, process, secure, analyze, or support Menuscript; when required by law; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.

Storage and retention

Some scans, preferences, and generated content may be stored on your device. Other information may be processed or cached on our servers and those of our providers. We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, to protect the service, and to meet legal requirements.

Your choices

You can control camera, photo-library, and location access in iOS Settings. You can also request access to or deletion of personal information associated with you by contacting us. We may need to verify your request, and some information may be retained where legally permitted.

Children

Menuscript is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live, where privacy laws may differ.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Menuscript changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above.
